ACQUISITION OF NEW PARKS WITH STRONG GROWTH POTENTIAL

Parques Reunidos is always on the lookout to acquire new assets to reinforce its position. The key regions of focus will remain Europe and the United States; however we are already expanding into Asia and looking into growing in Australia and Latin America.

Parques Reunidos aims to continue to generate value and strengthen and diversify its portfolio through bolt-on acquisitions, applying its business model, best practices and benchmark capabilities, and to be an industry consolidator in the regional leisure park field, the fragmented nature of the market.

The company will consider opportunities across all types of parks, provided that they appear to be undermanaged parks which would benefit from the application of its best practices to increase margins to the level of a comparable park within our portfolio following two full seasons.

Parques Reunidos has been the most active acquirer of individual theme parks in Europe and USA over the last ten years. The most recent transaction consisted of the acquisition of Miami Seaquarium, the largest continuously operating oceanarium in the United States, located in Key Biscayne Miami. This acquisition reinforces Parques Reunidos’ presence in the US market, where it owns and operates 22 parks through its subsidiary Palace Entertainment.
